At Territory Supply, our mission is to help readers embark on unforgettable travel experiences. We feature some of the best places to stay and explore in the U.S. and beyond, and adventure’s built into our DNA.
Whether you’re looking for a secluded cabin in Colorado, a treehouse in Oregon, glamping in Wisconsin, a weekend road trip from Phoenix, or a backpacking trip in Sequoia National Park, we can help you find your next big adventure.
We believe in the spirit of exploration: the pull of the open road, the allure of far-off mountains and the effort it takes to get there. We’re inspired by the places, people and stories around us, and we’re on a mission to share ’em.
Dustin is the founder of Territory Supply. He was born and raised in Phoenix, and fills most of his shelves with books on American West history.
He’s written for sites like Foundr, and enjoys studying marketing and entrepreneurship. When he’s not writing or reading, he likes to travel with his wife and twin daughters, a rambunctious team that makes backpacking the Grand Canyon seem easy. You can find him on Instagram.
Favorite adventure: one that stands out is a canoe trip with my brother, when we paddled from Wisconsin into Illinois on the Rock River, a tributary of the Mississippi River.
100+ miles over a few days, just in time to make the Dixon Gentlemen of the Road tour stop. Portaging dams, navigating through swamp and city, camping riverside and paddling into town at 3am – just in time to hit McDonald’s for an early breakfast.
Favorite gear: my daily go-to goods are Diplomat boots from Thursday Boot Company, a Timex Weekender and a 5-panel hat from P & Co. Also, chambrays and flannels. Let’s gooooo.
Jake is the Managing Editor at Territory Supply. Born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona — Jake loves photographing grand landscapes, sleeping under the stars in hammocks, and hiking lands near and far.
After earning his B.S. in Geography from Northern Arizona University, he worked as an interpretive naturalist across the state of Arizona. His stints include work as a park ranger with the National Park Service at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, a guide at Grand Canyon South Rim, and a docent at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.
While his heart loves backpacking and peak bagging adventures, Jake mostly takes it a little easier nowadays with his wife and 1-year-old daughter in tow. You can follow Jake’s landscape photography on Instagram and his personal website Mountain Tripper.
Favorite adventure: It’s hard to pick, but let’s go with my first ever backpacking trip, a challenging trip on Grand Canyon’s Hermit, Boucher, and Tonto Trails. I was invited to go by a friend of my Dad, but I was broke twenty-something so my padre outfitted me with most of the gear for the trip.
I was an experienced day hiker and camper at the time, so I knew enough to train for the trip, but the hike out from river to rim on the rugged Hermit Trail still kicked my ass. As bonafide Canyon aficionado, this was like the pilgrimage to Mecca for me. It also whet my appetite for many more Grand Canyon backpacking adventures.
Read more about this adventure here.
Favorite gear: For photography, my trusty yet tiny Olympus EM-10 Mark II takes amazing photos with little bulk. Backpacking-wise, I love hammocks, and won’t go anywhere without my Warbonnet Blackbird XLC and matching Mamajamba Tarp. In day-to-day life, my Topo Designs Daypack keeps me great company.

Favorite adventure: my all-time favorite adventure was a family ski trip to Park City back in high school. My siblings will tell you that I’m a terrible ski instructor, but I caught the bug and have been addicted to Park City’s slopes ever since.
Houseboating at Lake Powell is a close second. We spent the days jet skiing, tubing, and hiking, while the nights delivered a stargazing extravaganza as we slept on the top deck and listened to the lapping water echoing softly in the canyon.
Favorite gear: when winter beckons, I ride a Never Summer snowboard with Burton boots and bindings. My Spyder snow jacket has served me well for over a decade, so I trust pretty much anything sporting their logo.
For sunny weather, I swear by my Maui Jims. Once you try their polarized sunglasses, you’ll never be able to go back to cheapies from the gas station.

You can find her words in publications like Time Out, Hilton, Outdoorsy, and The Dyrt. When she’s not dancing in her tiny kitchen, she’s sipping on local beer and petting other people’s dogs.
Favorite Adventure: Cycling the Pirinexus 360 trail through Spain and France! For my 30th birthday I decided to rent a bike and head into the Pyrenees by myself. The 360 kilometer loop (223 miles) took me five and a half days and had me cycling up steep peaks, down rocky hillsides, and beside the Meditterranean sea along the Costa Brava.
It was a beautiful solitary adventure that tested my determination and spurred some deep self-reflection about the first decade of my adult life, and solidifying my priorities for the next decade (more adventures outdoors!).
Favorite Gear: UCO Flatpack Grill and Firepit. I live tiny and minimal, so I love stuff that folds up compact and doesn’t take up much space. I also like that it doubles as a grill and a firepit.

Arthur loves to walk. It’s as simple as that. Whether it be in the mountains, on the beach, or along the city streets — he believes walking is the best way to experience the world.
Thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail was his first backpacking foray, and he hasn’t stopped crushing miles since. Arthur and his wife now regularly travel into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest seeking new trails to hike.

Favorite adventure: Thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with my wife was a life-changing experience, one we will both reminisce about for the rest of our lives.
We crafted a book together called Adventure and The Pacific Crest Trail to document our daily trail journal entries and favorite photos. Though the views were stellar, and camp life was wonderful, it was the awesome people we met along the way who impacted us the most.
Favorite gear: My GoPro and Leki Hiking Staff combo — I never venture onto a backpacking journey without these two items.
The tripod mount-piece for the GoPro screws into the top of the hiking staff where a rosewood topper would normally be, making for the ultimate wilderness trekking poke and selfie stick.

Favorite adventure: hiking the Annapurna Circuit with my partner in 2018. It was my first venture into the high Himalayas, and it absolutely blew my mind.
I fell in love with the simplicity of walking from village to village, marveling at mile-high glaciers, and feeling incredibly small against the backdrop of multiple 8,000 meter peaks. It was a humbling and spiritual experience that deeply changed the way I interact with the world.
Favorite gear: I’m in love with my REI Quarter Dome 2 tent. It holds up in rain and high winds, has ample vestibule space, and is the coziest place to just curl up and read in my fluffy sleeping bag. Did I mention that the pockets are phenomenal?
